At Doctors Without Walls – Santa Barbara Street Medicine, our work begins and ends with people — and it is only possible because of the unwavering support of our donors, community partners, and grantors. Each year, your generosity keeps our teams on the streets, meeting people where they are with compassion, dignity, and life-saving care.

From medical outreach to case management and housing navigation, donor support allows DWW to provide direct, consistent care to individuals experiencing homelessness while addressing both clinical and non-clinical needs. Your contributions don’t just fund services — they sustain human connection, restore trust in healthcare, and ensure that no one in our community is left without care, compassion, or hope.

Turning Support into Real Impact

Because of donor and partner support, DWW continues to expand access to specialty care that is often completely out of reach for unhoused individuals. Through the incredible dedication of our clinical and pre-health volunteers, DWW now operates monthly specialty clinics, including our Mobile Dental Clinic offering Dental X-Rays, Oral Exams, Fillings, and Extractions, as well as a Spanish-Speaking Clinic on Yanonali Street. In early 2026, we aim to launch additional monthly Dermatology and Vision Clinics, providing dermatology exams, eye exams and glasses to those who need them most.

In 2025 alone, DWW served 8,109 clients, including 531 unique individuals, with 1,321 medical encounters. Strong partnerships and grant support made it possible for DWW to conduct:

  • Weekly daytime medical van street outreach missions
  • Evening backpack-based walking outreach
  • Monthly specialty clinics
  • Bi-weekly Women’s Free Homeless Clinic (WFHC) in partnership with Transition House, followed immediately by targeted street outreach to homeless women

These numbers represent far more than encounters — they reflect trust built over time, pain relieved, and lives supported through consistent presence.

Whole-Person Care in Action

In 2025, DWW’s Enhanced Care Management (ECM) program reached a major milestone. Fully developed and deeply rooted in a whole-person, interdisciplinary approach, the program served 45 high-need clients through more than 900 hours of intensive case management. ECM allows DWW to address not just medical needs, but housing, behavioral health, and social stability — meeting clients where they are and walking alongside them toward long-term stability.
