Black Lives Matter Statement

 June 23, 2020

To our Doctors Without Walls Family and our wonderful Santa Barbara Community:

We believe that the color of one’s skin should not impact an individual’s ability to lead a healthy and safe life. We stand against the structural inequities that disproportionately affect the Black, Latinx and other “person of color” communities of our nation. Racial inequality is a public health emergency. We at DWW have always supported those most in need as our patients occupy the lowest rung of the socioeconomic ladder. Just as we do not know what it is like to be homeless, we do not understand the daily struggle of being a black person in America. During such dark times we want the community of Santa Barbara to know that we are here for you. We will meet you wherever you are and help if we can.

We provide free medical care to the people of Santa Barbara regardless of skin color, ethnicity, religion, or ability to pay.
